This information includes saved passwords, browsing history, installed extensions and bookmarks, among other things. This allows you and whoever may use your laptop separate browsing experiences. Take note though, that user profile switching in browsers can be done easily, so having a separate user profile is not a guarantee of your browsing life’s privacy.”
Crucially, however, this feature also allows a single user to have several profiles of their own, giving them the ability to tailor each to a specific purpose. HDRA suggests that users can have a dedicated work profile and personal profile, each of which offer a different browsing experience based on what the user wants to do. A work profile can be set to exclude all their personal social media accounts, for example, reducing distractions. On the other hand, a personal profile can eliminate all traces of work, allowing them to relax more thoroughly.
